This assignment was to create a logo for ITP. We told that we could just use the acronym. To me when I think of ITP, I see the program as a bridge for taking raw elements such as circuits, software, and materials to creating new devices and concepts for viewing and helping everyday life.
I for the past week I was racking my brain in the hopes of seeing some hidden message in the ITP letters. My initial sketches included bridging the letters T and P. I bridged the letters to signify the bridge of raw elements to the pure imagination of ITP.
I then began to find typefaces for the letters. I liked the lowercase ‘I’, It gives the feeling of playfulness. I lined up the different typeface next to each other. I used the typeface Myriad Std for the ‘I’ and Neuzeit for the ‘T’ and the ‘P’. I still want to include some graphical element. I like the one sketch where I changed the ‘I’ to a candle. There is a double meaning here one is the torch of NYU and the second is the light of creativity.
